All the flavors of a fully loaded pizza with the speed and ease of a pasta dish. This is a kid-pleaser. You can substitute ground beef or chopped pepperoni for the sausage. Pair it with a green salad and you have a quick weeknight dinner.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 lb. Italian sausage
- 1 lb. Bowtie pasta
- 2 cans Fire roasted tomatoes, lightly drained
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced (my tomatoes had garlic so I skipped this)
- 1 tsp. basil
- 1 tsp. oregano
- 1/2 cup mozzarella, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan
Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Brown the sausage with the onion, garlic and green pepper. Drain and rinse under hot water. Put the meat back in the skillet and add the tomatoes and seasonings.
When the pasta is cooked and drained, mix it with the sauce and cheese. Serves 6-8 people.

My application for the Savvy Blogging Summit was approved. That means I’ll be going to Colorado for the first time. I can’t wait to see the mountains!
This is also my first blogging event and a chance to learn face to face with other bloggers. We’ll be focusing on the business side of blogging. I’m very excited about this chance to meet new people, learn new things and see a part of the country that I’ve never seen.

I made this tonite with pepperoni instead of italian sausage and an orange pepper instead of green because that is what I had. It was a big hit. Next time I may add mushrooms. Yummy!

Laura, I forgot to add the Parmesan to the ingredient list. There’s 1/2 cup mozzarella and about 1/2 cup Parmesan too. I’ll go fix that now.

Never rinse your pasta under water. That’s how you lose the nutritions.
