We love this at our house. It is beyond simple, takes less than 30 minutes from prep to table, and is an excellent alternative to traditional pizza that is easy to personalize for everyone’s taste.
You’ll Need:
- 1 French bread loaf
- Pizza sauce or leftover spaghetti sauce
- Toppings of choice- we usually do cheese and pepperoni
Cut the loaf in half and then slice each half open. This will give you four pizza loafs.
Place the bread quarters on a cookie sheet and slather sauce on each section of bread.
Top with your favorite toppings and place them in the oven at 375 degrees until cheese is melted and bubbly- about 12 to 17 minutes.
Remove from oven and allow to cool.

I will do this with hamburger buns too and the kids love it. They can make there own individual pizzas with whatever they like. We call them pizza burgers and they are a quick and cheap meal.

It works great in summer time when I have leftover buns from grilling burgers. I always seem to buy to many buns!

This looks and sounds yummy! We usually buy frozen pizzas because I think it is easy. But this is not only easy, it looks fun too. I have been letting my kids take turns helping with dinner. This is something my 13 year old could handle alone. I could sit nearby reading. Free time…..fun!

Made these for dinner, the bread was soggy, also used hot dog buns (those came out great) next time I’ll toast the bread on broil for 2 minutes then add the ingredients, it will be crispier that way too. Great recipe over all !
