Great things about this recipe: it can be made ahead of time, is served cold, can be packed up for a picnic or lunch on the go. The crunch of the celery and nuts pairs perfectly with the sweet grapes and chicken.
Here’s what you’ll need:
4 cups cooked chicken, cut up
2/3 cup chopped pecans
4 stalks celery, chopped
2 cups seedless purple grapes, halved
1 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbs. lemon juice
salt, to taste
1/2 tsp. pepper
Combine the chicken, celery, grapes and nuts in a large bowl. In a small bowl, stir together the mayo, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Stir this sauce into the chicken mixture and chill for several hours.

I love chicken salad and this looks like the perfect thing to make for this weekend! where did you find your little cups for the mayo and pecans? they’re adorable!!

The little cups came from Pier One. They are measuring cups, but the 1 cup and 1/2 cup aren’t completely accurate. I love using them though. The sit on the ledge over the sink when they aren’t holding food for pictures.

oh, I was looking for that. So thank you for sharing this. I love you add grapes and nuts in it. We had chicken salad on a croissant at a cafe, and it was so yummy that I wanted to make my own. the croissant was fabulous too. How do you cook your chicken?

Great recipe! I ate some chicken salad with grapes in it once and loved it, but never got the recipe. I bet this is it, or really close to it.
Thanks for sharing it!

This is a nice recipe for Chicken Salad and may be even tastier than side items sold at cafes and small sandwich stores. The grapes are a fancy addition!

I dont know what I did wrong because I followed this recipe to the T and it was way too salty! I thought chicken salad was suppose to be a little sweet. All I could taste is salt!
Tiffany says
Chris, I’m sorry that it was so salty. That’s disappointing. I’m going to change the recipe to read “salt to taste”. I know that won’t help fix your chicken salad. Again, sorry that it didn’t turn out.

Tiffany what can I substitute for the mayo bcse I’m eating healthy ?
Tiffany says
Great question Patty – maybe a greek yogurt or a combination of mayo and yogurt? It won’t taste exactly the same, but it will add the creamy texture without as much fat!
