tangy sweet pork chops in the crockpot

I love assembly only recipes for the slow cooker, don’t you?  Less than 5 minutes of prep and dinner is well on it’s way to being ready.

You may recognize the two ingredients that are paired up in this recipe from the popular meatball appetizers that get served at parties.  I decided to try it over pork chops instead of meatballs.  Really, I think you could use any type of meat for this.  Use what you find in your freezer or what’s on sale.

I served this with Easy Smashed Sweet Potatoes and steamed broccoli.  It tasted like I’d spent a long time cooking, but in total it probably only added up to about 15 minutes of hands on work.  And that was spread out over the day.  Perfect for a busy family!

Here’s what you’ll need for the pork chops:

  1. I’m trying this one with meatballs for the first time this week – this looks so much easier though, since you don’t have to actually make meatballs first!

If I do try it with pork though, I will be doing boneless chops. I did a bone-in pork chop crockpot recipe over the weekend and think I may have accidentally eaten a little piece of bone! Then I spent the next two days worried about that!

  2. This smelled so good while it was cooking. It looked really good to, but sorry to say my family was not a fan. It was just okay. It had a very unusual taste to it. Sorry, I will not be making this again 🙁

  3. Not only is this a ridiculously easy recipe great for any time of year, but especially keeps your kitchen cool in summer, it lets you try one of those more complicated side dishes which you never have the time to do with a more complicated entree. And besides, this is also the ticket for when you don’t really feel like cooking as well. Thanks so much for sharing Tiffany!
