I love my husband. First of all, he sometimes bakes cookies for us. Secondly, he has brilliant ideas. Like pouring Heath chips into the cookie dough.
Toffee chips make a classic even better.
This is the common (but delicious!) chocolate chip cookie recipe with the added bonus of toffee chips.
- 2 sticks butter, softened
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 bag chocolate chips
- 3/4 cup toffee chips
Mix the butter and sugars together with an electric mixer. Beat in the eggs and vanilla.
Combine the flour, baking soda and salt and then add to the wet ingredients. Mix thoroughly. Stir in the chocolate chips and toffee chips.
Bake at 375 degrees for 9 minutes.
What is your favorite chocolate combination? Chocolate with:
- caramel
- toffee
- coffee
- peanut butter
- double chocolate
- white chocolate
- strawberry
- raspberry
- nuts
- etc, etc, etc…
Sorry! I got carried away – so what’s your favorite?
I love all those too, but my favorite is chocolate with orange…YUM!
Oh, hubs is going to love these cookies. We’ll have to watch our portion control as I’m sure these will be a major hit! 🙂
mmm… looks yummy! I can’t wait to try these at home.
How many cookies did this make? I think I may bake these this week for my hub!
It depends on how big you make your cookies. I get about 4-5 dozen from this recipe.
to make this a bit healthier, can one substitute a healthy margarine such as Becel instead of the butter?
Marnie, yes you can use margarine with no problem.
Do you grease the pan for the chocolate chip toffee chip cookies? It doesn’t say.

Use an ungreased pan or baking stone.
