Autumn = Apple goodness. Cinnamon, brown sugar and sweet apples…mmmm. If you have some time to play in the kitchen this weekend, be sure to bake up this Apple Crinkle. You’ll love yourself for it and so will the people you share it with.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup oatmeal
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup butter
- 3 cups sliced apples
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
Mix the first 4 ingredients together to make soft crumbs. Add half of the crumbs to the apples in a 2 qt baking dish, mixing them together well.
Stir the water, sugar and cinnamon together and pour over the apples. Top with the remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until the apples are done.
This is best eaten warm from the oven. A scoop of vanilla bean ice cream would be divine 🙂

oh that looks nice. We like Apple Crumble here and have it often – we serve it with custard rather than ice cream tho’ 🙂

My children (we have 5) eat apples in abundance…. I had everything on had to make this last night for dessert so I did. I doubled it and have enough for at least two nights- or longer.
FABULOUS! YUM! SCRUMPTIOUS! My kids and husband say THANK YOU.
I am so grateful I stumbled upon your site a few weeks back. You have some great stuff on here… I have already made a handful of things. I search through your recipes lately to help with my meal planning. I am actually making your Kentucky Family Biscuits for breakfast this morning. All of your recipes are simple and to the point and I usually have everything on hand. Love!
Your photos are great by the way.
Thanks again for sharing.

The photo of the apple crinkles is amazing! It has been a cold and rainy week here in Minnesota and I’ve just decided to stay in this afternoon and make them. Thanks:)

We made this the other night – OH WOW! This is such a great treat!
The only thing I think that should of been added for ditzes like me is the direction to peel the apples HAHA! I sliced the apples really thin which was fine but since it didn’t specify to peel I didn’t — UGH! You’d think I would of known. Next time they will definitely be peeled!
This is now one of our family favorites! Thanks for sharing it =)

Has anyone ever told you how amazing you are to do all of this? Especially for free for those of us who are “less” at cooking and baking. Thank you so much for your time, talents and energy! Keep them all coming! We’re all loving it!

I made this a few days ago and my kids loved it. Thanks for sharing. It will be my new “go to” apple crisp type recipe from now on.

Made this tonight–very good! Fit nicely in a 10″ pie pan. Also, I didn’t have any plain oatmeal, but 3 packets of instant maple & brown sugar oatmeal made a nice substitute.

This recipe is so simple, but so delicious. The fall hit and I was looking for an apple dish like my Mom used to make, after extensive looking I stumbled on this recipe and had to try it. I’m glad I did. Thank you for posting it!
