12 Slow Cooker Freezer Meal Plans with Grocery Lists and Instructions that can be made in 1 hour!

12 slow cooker freezer meal plans

I’m so excited about sharing this new resource with you!

We’ve put together all of the Slow Cooker Freezer Meal plans from the last year into one big printable.  Now you can get dinner organized and ready in just 1 hour for a whole week’s worth of meals.  That’s about 10 minutes per meal!

Each month as part of our Weekly Meal Plans, we publish a slow cooker freezer week.  Each of these plans has:

  • 6 dinners and side dish suggestions
  • color-coded grocery lists
  • printable recipes
  • instructions on assembling all of the meals

These were originally published from September 2013 – August 2014, so if you were a member of Weekly Meal Plans during that time, you have already seen and used at least one (or more, depending on how long you were a member) of these plans.

I want to be very up front and say that this is not brand new content.  But this is the first time these slow cooker freezer meal plans have been published all together and are available outside of the Weekly Meal Plan membership.

I love using these plans.  The meals are my “busy day emergency stash”.  They keep us out of the drive-thru lane, but require minimal effort to get dinner on the table.

Here’s what you’ll get:

  • 12 plans – each with 6 dinners and side dish suggestions
  • Color-coded grocery lists
  • Assembly instructions and tips
  • Over 85 printable recipes

The cost is $9.97, but if you use the code below you save $2 and get it for just $7.97.

This discount code is only good through September 16, so don’t wait!

Slow Cooker Freezer Meals in 1 Hour – May Plans

I put together another video for you (embedded at the bottom of this post), showing how I assemble 5-6 slow cooker freezer meals in just one hour.  This time, I grabbed my oldest daughter, Meredith to help me.

Meredith is getting married in less than a month, so I thought it might be good to show her how to stock the freezer quickly with slow cooker meals.

The thing about Meredith is that she is very picky.  She doesn’t like beef or comfort type foods.  She doesn’t like ketchup.  In fact, after the video she told me she tried not to make a face when I added the ketchup to the round steak recipe.  But you can see that she did make a face of dislike!  So funny!

Even after doing quite a few of these videos, I’m still not very comfortable with it.  I’m certainly no professional video maker!  But I hope they are a help to you in getting your own freezer stocked.

The plans, grocery list, recipes and instructions for the May Slow Cooker Freezer Meals are all included for members of the Weekly Meal Plans.  They are scheduled for the week of May 21, but members get access to the whole month at once, so they are downloadable now.

Here are the recipes included for this video.  The plans also have side dishes included.  I didn’t make the Blueberry Crisp in the video, but it’s also freezable and the instructions are included in the plans.

Simple Weekly Meal Plans (Slow Cooker Freezer Meals Plan) – March 24

I’m really excited to announce that this is coming to the Weekly Meal Plans starting in April!

Lots more info will be coming later this week with all the specifics on the new Whole Foods Plan.

I shopped on Saturday with the grocery list for the Slow Cooker Freezer Meals plan for April.  I love shopping with these lists. It’s so easy  to be ready to walk out the door, since I just have to print the list.  No thinking.  No decisions.  (Am I the only one who feels like I’m on decision overload sometimes?)

I made all 6 meals in about an hour of time.  I even shot another video, which will be uploaded soon, to show how to pack up the meals for a smaller family.  Doing that yielded 12 meals!  Not bad for just an hour of time.

And this is the week for the Slow Cooker Freezer Meals for March!  If you’d like the grocery list and instructions to go with this, check out the Weekly Meal Plans.

Here’s a sneak peek at this week’s meal plans.  When you join the Weekly Meal Plan list, you get the grocery list and printable recipes with side dishes included.  You can find out more about how to get the meal plans for yourself by clicking here.

Simple Meal Plans and Real Life – January 20

It’s a little early in the year for this (aren’t we all supposed to be super-charged, high energy, and goal oriented in January?), but I’m already in a recipe slump.  That’s probably not a great thing to admit since I’m a food blogger.  But I’ve had some trouble coming up with ideas for new recipes to share here.  It’s a phase, and one I’m sure will pass.  I’ve been through this before, so I know it’s temporary.

I’m sure it has a lot to do with the fact that I started the Whole 30, quite the Whole 30 and at least for this week I need to watch my intake of high potassium foods.  Frankly, it all leaves me a little tired of food in general.

That said, I’m so glad I have a freezer stocked with the January Slow Cooker Freezer meals.  That’s the menu that you see posted below in the Slow Cooker Plan section.  We’ve already had the Beef Stew and let me tell you, that was phenomenal!

And I do have one idea for an easy slow cooker soup recipe that I’m going to be testing this week.  Fingers crossed that it turns out well!

Simple Weekly Meal Plans

Using the Slow Cooker Freezer Meals – Simple Weekly Meal Plans & Real Life

It’s been about a month since I tested the Slow Cooker Freezer Menu (get a sneak peek at it near the bottom of this post).  I’ve been using those meals slowly, only reaching into the freezer when I know the day is going to be too busy for cooking.

But even though I’m trying not to use them all at once, after this week I only have 1 left!

I may be testing some new slow cooker freezer meals soon.  Those meals have made dinner time so simple and having them stashed away in the freezer is like a bit of insurance against the “crazy days”.

Sunday

Last Sunday, we ate leftovers after church.  There were several different things that needed to be eaten and I decided I didn’t want to cook.  It worked out well, at least for me!

Jim and I also went out on Sunday evening.  There was a free jazz concert at a local historic home that we decided to go to.  Before that though, we stopped by Lowe’s.  I’m wanting to give our kitchen a facelift with new countertops and possibly painted cabinets.

counterprice

I snapped this picture so I could remember the prices for laminate.  We also priced quartz and granite and decided it would be more than we want to spend.  And to be honest, I like laminate.

We currently have something called Butternut Granite, I think.  It’s not my favorite.  I like it better than I thought I would (the builder chose it before we bought the house), but I’d like to change it to something different.  If you’ve got a laminate you love, leave me a comment!

Monday

Labor Day meant a day off work for Jim and no school for the rest of us.  We went disc golfing with the boys.  They’ve been playing all summer, but I’d never been.  I’m terrible at throwing the frisbee, but it was fun to watch them.

bacontomatobasilpasta

Friends had given us a bunch of tomatoes from their garden the night before.  I decided they needed to be part of a pasta dish.  So I made a quick meal with angel hair pasta, bacon, basil, tomatoes and white wine.  I’ll share the recipe soon!

Tuesday

Our son had a soccer game, so we went to watch.  I used one of the slow cooker freezer meals – Honey Hoisin Chicken.  I shredded the cooked meat and we put it on sandwiches with quick cole slaw and sweet potato fries on the side.  Yum!

Wednesday

I used a bottle of Kung Pao sauce with some chicken tenders, onions and bell peppers.  We ate it over rice.  The bottle of sauce had enough kick that all of our mouths were tingly and burning afterward, but it was good.

Thursday

I made another of our slow cooker freezer meals.  This time it was Maple Apple Pot Roast.  It turned out great!  I served parmesan potatoes too – from a box – and they were delicious!  I hardly ever buy boxed au gratin style potatoes, but they just looked so good.  Everyone loved them.  We also had broccoli.  And I made Peach Pie Squares for dessert.  Recipe coming to the blog soon!

And I repurposed our leftover roast for Friday’s lunch.  I shredded the beef, added a can of black beans and some salsa.  Heated it in the microwave and filled taco shells.  It worked great and would have made a good dinner for a small family.

bunny

We had some tiny company on Thursday night.  This little guy and two of his brothers were hanging out in our garden.  They were only about the size of the palm of my hand.  Cute!

Friday

It’s Friday as I write this post and I’m planning to make French toast and ham for dinner.  Fancy, I know. *Update: When I went into the kitchen to make dinner, I realized we were out of milk. So I turned the French bread into French bread pizzas, using the ham for a topping and gathering up anything else I could find.  They turned out great!  But I really do need to hit the grocery!

How to Make 7+ Slow Cooker Freezer Meals in 1 Hour

A couple of weeks ago, I made over 7 slow cooker freezer meals in 1 hour.  It was easy to do and I have loved having those meals ready to go!

We’ve used several of them and they’re super convenient.

How to Make 7+ Freezer Meals in 1 Hour

Today, I’m going to get all brave and share the video I made on my cooking day.  This is the first video I’ve ever done for my blog.  For someone who can’t even stand looking at pictures of herself, putting a video out there is pretty intimidating.

I wanted to share it though, because I thought it would be helpful for others who want to do some freezer cooking in a limited amount of time.  I’ve also got some tips to share with you.

Weekly Meal Plans – All Slow Cooker Plan with Freezer Meals!

If you love having the planning done for you, check out our Weekly Meal Plans.  You’ll get menus, grocery lists and printable recipes for both Traditional and All Slow Cooker plans.  Each month of Weekly Meal Plans has one week of Slow Cooker Freezer Meals that can be assembled in about an hour!

Tips for Making Slow Cooker Freezer Meals Quickly

1.  Choose easy recipes.

This may go without saying, but if you’re trying to accomplish a lot in a small amount of time, you need to keep it simple.  Choose recipes that don’t require a lot of chopping or pre-cooking.  You want “assembly only” type recipes.

2.  Don’t measure what you don’t have to measure.

Many times, you can just eye-ball the measurements for ingredients.  Look for recipes that will be forgiving of variances.  It’s much faster to pour approximately 1/2 cup of an ingredient in than to measure it and then pour.

3.  Do all your chopping at once.

Count the number of onions, garlic and other items that you’ll need to chop.  Cut them all at one time and set aside.

4.  Group ingredients for each recipe together.

As you open cans, chop onions or set out spices, group the ingredients for each recipe.  And don’t forget to keep your printed recipe handy so you can refer to it.
