I decided one day to make my own seasoned salt. I started grabbing spices and seasonings from my pantry and began to mix them together in amounts I thought sounded good. Then I used the mixture on oven roasted potatoes. So good!
A few days later, I mixed up a larger amount. I’ve used it in all kinds of recipes, including the pasta that I will share tomorrow. Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
To make a small amount:
- 1 Tbs. Kosher salt
- 1 tsp. course ground pepper
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp. onion powder
- 1/8 tsp. ground red pepper
Mix all the ingredients together and store in a container with a tight fitting lid.
To make a larger amount:
- 4 Tbs. Kosher salt
- 4 tsp. course ground pepper
- 1 tsp. paprika
- 1 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- 1/2 tsp. ground red pepper
This is a coarse seasoned salt that add lots of flavor to whatever you put it on.

omg this all sounds so good so many to choose from what to make first

What a simple yet great idea. Who would have thought? Thanks for sharing!
Great recipe! I don’t eat regular seasoned salt because I’m allergic to paprika, and most seem to have it in there, even though the ingredient list just says “spices”. I never really thought about premixing my own without the paprika. I’ll have to play with it and see what works.
This is a terrific idea and one that I’m going to try, for sure! Especially great now that grilling season is about to start. Thanks, Tiffany.
What a great recipe! I usually mix up something we call in our house “Mom’s Mix” cause I can’t have much salt in my diet. It’s kinda like a Mrs.Dash alternative but MUCH cheaper. I don’t add paprika to it but I think it would be a nice thing to try next batch =) Maybe even a spicy paprika? have to think on that. Thanks!!
