Age doesn’t matter, unless you’re a cheese.

I love cheese.  If you’ve been reading this blog for any length of time at all, you already know that.  I’ve even had to apologize for my excessive use of cheese.

But today, we can go all out!  Put some cheese on everything!

Here are some of my favorite cheesy recipes:

  1. We love cheese at our house, too! We use it in most of our recipes. When my kids were little, we put cheese on vegetables to get them to eat them. It worked! They can now handle eating veggies without the cheese now, thankfully. Bring on the cheese. We love it!

  3. The downside to not including pictures on my recipe site is that you have to see my kids instead of the dish in my link. Then again, they’re pretty cute and that’s not necessarily a downside. 🙂

  5. Oh I love cheese. Eat some about every day. Have you ever had this happen at your house? You want pizza! You want it now! You do not want to pay for or live too far away for delivery. With a few ingredients easily kept on hand you can make this great pizza type dish in 50 minutes. The original recipe came from the Fleischmann Yeast’s Bread World site and is here:
    We like a thinner crust so I halve the recipe. My version is below. If you are feeding a family, make the whole recipe and divide between two pie plates. I make my own pizza sauce. Recipe is also below. You may add or use other pizza toppings of your choice.
    I don’t care for turkey pepperoni so I degrease my regular pepperoni like Lynn does

    1-Dish Pepperoni Cheese Pizza Bake
    Adapted from

    3/4 cup plus 2 T. all-purpose flour
    1 envelope Fleischmann’s® RapidRise Yeast
    1 t. sugar
    1/4 t. salt
    1/4 cup plus 2 T. very warm water (120° to 130°F)
    1 T. olive oil

    ** Topping **
    1/2 cup pizza sauce
    2 ounces pepperoni slices (about 20 to 25 slices)
    2 cups (8 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese

    Spray a 9 1/2-inch deep dish pie plate with cooking spray. Place dry ingredients in pie plate and combine well. Mix water and olive oil. Pour over dry ingredients and mix well. Spread and stretch batter over bottom and up sides of pie plate. Spread pizza sauce evenly over batter. Top batter with pepperoni slices. Firmly push pepperoni into batter. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake by placing in a COLD oven; set temperature to 350°F. Bake for 30 minutes or until done. This is supposed to make 6 servings, but it is more like 4 servings at our house.

    Pizza Sauce
    1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
    2 t. Italian seasoning (or 1 t. oregano, 1/2 t. marjoram, 1/2 t. basil)
    1/4 to 1/2 t. garlic powder
    1/2 to 1 t. sugar

    Combine all ingredients and let stand 1 hour. Divide in 1 tablespoon amounts among compartments in ice cube trays. Freeze, pop from trays and store in plastic bag. To thaw place number of sauce cubes wanted in a microwave safe bowl, cover and microwave at 50 percent power 1-2 minutes until thawed. I usually only use 1/4 c. sauce for the above recipe which would be 4 cubes.

      • is a site worth a visit. I think people assume that recipes using yeast are hard and time consuming. Under the 1-Dish category, they have many recipes that are some variation of the dough recipe above, and take less than 1 hour to prepare and bake. Two others that kids should like are the chili cornbread recipe and the taco recipe. The crust above doesn’t taste quite like regular pizza dough, but it is still good; and Yes! no rolling.
