These are what happens when a desire to visit Disney World collides with a chocolate craving on a plain old Sunday afternoon. I found the recipe while buzzing around allears.net , a fantastic resource for planning or dreaming about a Disney trip. These brownies are made at the Boardwalk Bakery. I’ve never eaten the real deal, so I can’t tell you how close they come, but I can tell you they were fudgy, chocolatey and they didn’t last long.
The recipe was a little wonky. It called for the brownies to be baked at 330 degrees and only for 15 minutes. I didn’t believe either of those things. I set the oven at 350 and it ended up taking them 45-50 minutes to bake. I’m not sure if the pan size is wrong on the recipe (it calls for a 9×13) or if it’s just the bake time. Since these Disney recipes are cut down for the home kitchen, sometimes things get a bit lost in translation. I’ll give you my version.
Here’s what you’ll need: {warning – you’re going to gain 15 lbs. just reading the ingredients}
2 sticks butter
2 cups sugar
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup corn syrup
6 eggs
1 1/8 cup cocoa powder
6 Tbs. vegetable oil
2 cups flour
Cream the butter and sugars together. Add the cocoa powder and corn syrup. Mix until blended. Add the eggs, one at a time. Mix in the oil. Finally, mix in the flour.
Grease and flour (or spray with the baking spray that has flour in it) a 9×13 pan. Spread the batter in the pan and bake for about 45-50 minutes at 350 degrees.
