Instant Pot Smoked Sausage and Sauerkraut Soup is a German-style soup your whole family will love.
Instant Pot Smoked Sausage and Sauerkraut Soup
I grew up in a German family, so the flavors of this soup take me back to my childhood. It’s comforting and homey and a bowl of Instant Pot Smoked Sausage and Sauerkraut Soup is the perfect way to warm you up on a cold night.
Potatoes, smoked sausage, and sauerkraut make up the bulk of this soup. Yes, sauerkraut – but don’t pass judgment on this soup without trying it! The flavors of the sauerkraut meld well with the rest of the soup, but you could also use just one can of sauerkraut if you prefer.
Instant Pot Smoked Sausage and Sauerkraut Soup is a breeze to assemble – minimal chopping and since there’s a rustic vibe to this soup you don’t even have to peel the potatoes. It only takes about 10 minutes to get everything in the Instant Pot ready to cook. Altogether, Instant Pot Sausage and Sauerkraut Soup will be on the table in less than an hour.
Going with the German theme, pretzel rolls are the perfect side for this soup. A big salad and hot cornbread are also good options.
If you don’t have an Instant Pot, this soup can also be made in the slow cooker.
