More No Bake, No Cook, No Time Gifts – Homemade Seasoned Salt and Italian Herb Salt

I like keeping these seasoned and herb salts on hand to cook with.  I’ve shared the recipe for homemade seasoned salt before.  This version makes a larger batch and is tweaked just a bit.

Use the seasoned salt just like you would any other seasoned salt.  I like using it in pasta dishes, on grilled meats and even on zucchini.

This Italian Herb Salt is wonderful for adding zest to chicken.  Also, try it on fish and vegetables or a pinch on your salad.  But remember – it is a salt.  Use it in place of regular salt in a recipe.  It isn’t good on bread.  Trust me, I’ve tried.  If you want Italian seasoning blend to sprinkle on pizzas and bread, leave the salt out of this recipe and double the herbs.

  1. Great idea and I love those jars !

  2. The jars are too cute! Makes me want to make the mix just to be able to buy those cute jars!!

  3. Love the recipes and the jars…where did you find those?

    • Adrienne, the jars came from Walmart. It was the last box though, so I don’t know if it was a seasonal item or not.

      • I found those exact jars at our local True Value hardware store.
There’s also a 4oz version which I might use instead. The 1/2 pint seems like a lot of salt! I plan to make 4 or 5 different kinds and give them as sets.

  4. Great idea but I too would like to know the source for those cute jars!

    Thanks!

  5. These are great! We usually gifts in a jar on the sweet side (cookie or brownie mixes, etc) But these savory ones are perfect for those who don’t really bake. Plus, since they’re spices, they can be used in lots of cooking.

Thanks for sharing…oh, and I have to agree, those jars are super cute :D

  6. Great idea. I pinned it!

  7. I love this, Tiffany. I am totally pinning it. :)

  8. I love these mixes….and the jars……but I especially love the short round measuring spoon! Where can I get them? My mother has been wanting some without the long handles!

    Thanks for sharing!!

  9. I made up a batch of both of these for teacher gifts this year. I even happened to have the very same jars. LOL They look fantastic and my kitchen smells like an Italian bakery. (That’s a good thing!)

  10. Where did you get your vibrant dainty measuring spoon? Thanks for the fabulous recipes.
