Dole Whip Float

I’ve had Walt Disney World on my mind the last few days.  We’ve gotten to vacation there several times in August or September and I must feel that I should be getting ready to go again.  But it’s not to be this year.  Last night I wanted a little taste of the Magic Kingdom.  There is a place called Aloha Isle in Adventureland that has the best snack.  It’s called a Dole Whip Float.

They sell pineapple spears and pineapple juice.  You can also get soft serve ice cream, even pineapple flavor.  But the absolute best treat is the Dole Whip Float.  Pineapple soft serve (or vanilla) floating in cold, refreshing pineapple juice.  It will cool you off a thousand times better than spitting camels or misting tikis.

To make my version, mix up a can of Dole pineapple juice concentrate according to the directions.  Dip vanilla ice cream into a tall glass and pour the juice over the top.  Close your eyes and pretend you just climbed off the Pirates of the Carribbean ride and after your snack you’ll take a spin on Peter Pan’s Flight and then brave Splash Mountain.

Please tell me about your Disney trips – past, present or future so that I can live vicariously through your stories!  Then go make this float and hum:

 M-I-C see ya real soon,

K-E-Y why? because we like you!

I live in FL, less than an hour from Disneyworld and my kids spent their earliest years at DW and thought everyone went once a month or more. My first visit was in 1974, and I was 14………it was great fun. My girls first went at @ 18 months, and then had a steady mickey diet. My son was less than 6 weeks old, and I discreetly nursed in on Main Street as the parade went by.

My husband had a convention in Orlando in 1994, so we all went with him. We spent one day at Disney in the Magic Kingdom. My husband had a new camera and was getting great shots of the parade floats as they passed by. However, I kept trying to get his attention because Disney character after Disney character were coming up to our two young children to shake their hands. We never got a picture of our kids with any of the Disney characters, but we have some great pics of the parade floats! :-)

This float recipe sounds deliciously refreshing! I hope to try it soon!

OH, Yum! My son and I love pineapple and who doesn’t love ice cream. I can’t wait to get home and try this out. Thanks.

I am a flight attendant and was craving something like this so bad the other day that I poured creamers over ice and then some OJ. It’s actually really good and will work in a pinch. I think I’ll pick up a MagicBullet and plug that bad boy right into the galley to make plane made “creamcicle” slushies. Ooh. See what you started! Thanks and again I say Yum.

Mmmm we tried this tonight and I thought is was delish! I wasn’t sure if the kiddos would like it but surprisingly they did! Though, hubby was a stick in the mud and disagreed…he doesn’t have a sweet tooth like the rest of us!
Thanks for another fav!

I get the Dole whip float every time I go to Magic Kingdom. I have one for breakfast, and one before I leave the park. They are the absolute best treat in Disney.
