One can never know too many ways to make a sandwich in the summertime!
Meet the Cuban Sandwich. Inspired by real cuban flavors, this is a slow cooker twist. The great thing about this is you can make up extra batches of the meat filling and pop it in the freezer so that you can make these in a near-jiffy whenever you get in the mood. These are a pressed sandwich, and pack up great for a picnic!

Annette, I’m not sure why you’d be getting lots of Facebook posts for Eat at Home. Try unliking the Eat at Home Facebook page.

Hello.
Quick question is there a substitute I could use for the mojo? I don’t have any and I would love to make these. Also is there another good substitute for the swiss?

Here’s a recipe for mojo that you might try http://www.tasteofcuba.com/mojo.html. For the cheese, try provolone.

The real Cuban Sandwich recipe comes straight out of Tampa Florida. Roast Pork, Ham, Salami, Swiss cheese, 2 pickles (like the hamburger kind you use), mustard on real Cuban bread. That is the recipe. You can grill it if you like or eat it not grilled. Nobody from Tampa eats it with tomato or lettuce either. If you’re adding or sub-ing other ingredients… it’s not a Cuban Sandwich.
