I’ve made this twice now. It is so easy and we all love it. The taste is similar to sweet and sour chicken, but it has a little bit of kick from red pepper flakes in the sauce.
It’s a complete cheater meal, making use of several convenience items. That means this meal can be fixed in just about 15 minutes. Faster than grabbing food at a restaurant.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 bag frozen popcorn chicken
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 green pepper, chopped
- vegetable oil
- 1-1 1/2 cups Orange Sauce – I used Panda Express bought from Walmart
- cooked rice, not in photo
Put the popcorn chicken in the oven and bake according to the package directions.
Cook the onion and green pepper in a skillet with a little vegetable oil. Cook until tender-crisp. Pour in 1 to 1 1/2 cups of orange sauce. Add the chicken to the skillet and stir to combine. Serve over rice.

delicious and simple we threw in a bag of stir fry veggies and used cut up chicken breast instead awesome for a quick dinner

Tiffany this is excellent. Dinner was done in the amount of time it too to cook the rice.
You could easily swap the orange sauce for sweet and sour.
More cheater meals!!! This was awesome.
I am going to make this today for lunch-to bump up the nutrition I am going to add broccoli, carrots and baby corn!! Much healthier that at a fast food place and tastier too I am sure!! YUM-O!!!!
I made this for my husband this weekend. he had two heaping servings and kissed me a million times for making it. THANK YOU!! it was so easy and he had no idea. ha ha!
I am so going to make this! Yum! Yum! So easy too! My oldest only makes recipes like this……easy. Thanks

Tiffany,
I wish I had a recipe with soy sauce to add to the list. What a great recipe! I can’t wait to try it out and the pictures are great too! Thanks for sharing.

It looks gorgeous!! I’ll have to take a look for that sauce. I’ll use it with grilled chicken, those bagged chickens are way too high in calories! I’d rather eat more! I’ll add a ton of veggies too. Thanks!
You could make single servings of this, and add more veggies. I think it would be healthier than what you get from a take-out restaurant.
Thanks for the recipe!
Wow!! That sounds and looks so easy. I will definitely have to give it a try!!!
Sounds and looks delicious!
This is definitely our kind of dish, and it sounds so easy. Thanks for this idea.
