What kind of person does this to the ice cream container and then puts in back in the freezer for the next unsuspecting snacker?

If you know my family in real life, you can guess which one of the kids did it.  Yep, it’s the one whose name means laughter.  We named him well.

Speaking of ice cream, I’ve been reading through this book on Scrib’d:  

 

Jeni’s is a gourmet ice cream shop based in Columbus, Ohio.  I’ve heard of it, but I’ve never been.  Once I started reading through all her recipes, I really wanted to make a trip, but the closest stores are a good 4 hours or more away.

I did see that our local Whole Foods Market sells Jeni’s though.  A trip across town and nearly $10 in cash yielded a pint of Goat Cheese with Red Cherries.  Oh. My. Word!  It is amazing!  The texture is thick and creamy.  Much creamier than other ice creams I’ve had.  And the flavors are very pronounced, but not overpowering.

Now, I really want to try her recipes.  I’ve never been a fan of recipes that require cooking the ice cream before freezing, but I’m going to have to try it.  And she’s also given me some inspiration for trying some new things with my own easy, no-cook recipe.

I’ve used my pressure cooker for several things and I promise to do a post about it soon.  I’ve cooked rice in it with good results, but I want to try risotto.  And this magazine has a recipe for mac and cheese that looks phenomenal.

 

I haven’t shared one of my Stitch Fix boxes in a long time, but I just got my 13th box this week.  I kept two items from the latest box.  The blue dot shirt and the sweater.  The sweater is cotton and very soft.  I love the spring-like color of it.  The dress is one of my favorite Stitch Fix items.  They sent it before Christmas.  I’ve worn it several times.

Stitch Fix is a personal styling service that sends a box of 5 items (clothes and accessories) in the mail.  You try everything on at home, with clothes you already own, to see what you like.  Keep what works and send the rest back in a pre-paid envelope.  It’s easy and fun.  And it means that I don’t have to actually step foot in a real store to get something to wear.  I’m a terrible shopper!

Finally, if you need a laugh this weekend, here’s a video for you.  A friend of mine (hi, Beverly!) started sharing Jeanne Robertson videos on Facebook each morning.  Finally, I decided to watch one.  Oh my!  She is so funny!  This one about sending her husband to the grocery store is priceless.  Can you relate?
