Are you getting bad weather where you live? We’re in for sleet, ice and maybe some snow this weekend. Hopefully, you’re able to cuddle up at home with your family, if the weather’s bad. I’ve got some fun stuff for you, if you’ve got some extra web surfing time.
What I’ve Been Reading
After battling migraines all during the Thanksgiving weekend (starting on Wednesday and everyday through Sunday), I decided to buy and read It Starts with Food. I’ve watched a lot of online friends do a Whole30, which is committing to not eat any food that could possibly cause problems. That means giving up grains, dairy, beans and legumes, and sugar for 30 days. Then you reintroduce those foods to see what is causing you problems.
A lot of people have found relief from migraines and other issues as well. So, in January I’ll be doing a Whole30. Look for a post from me soon with more details and an invitation to join me. In the meantime, if you’re considering it for yourself, I highly recommend picking up the book, It Starts with Food. I bought the book for myself and a few days later bought another copy for my sister.

The other day, I shared my Christmas Gift Guide. I also really like these 39 Stocking Stuffer That Will Actually Be Appreciated from Modern Mrs. Darcy.
Remember when I shared this picture of my son, Peter and the guy from Jim’s freshman college class who looks just like Peter? They are no relation at all and they are more than 30 years apart in age, but they look so much alike!
I found this article about people who look alike, but aren’t related. The term for that is doppelgänger. A fun word for a strange phenomenon. I’m wondering how many people look like people from the past. And I’m really curious what Peter’s doppelgänger looks like now.
Have you seen this video of a 2 year old shooting baskets? Oh my goodness! He’s pretty amazing!
I’m not much of a football fan. I’m not from Ohio. And I’ve never played a band instrument. But the Ohio State marching band is awesome! Their Hollywood Tribute is amazing, especially the ending. And the Disney Tribute is great too. There are a lot more performances too. Very impressive.
I love this video of a dad with his little girl, singing together. It makes me happy every time I watch it.
And finally, I got an email the other day saying that my Kentucky Hot Brown Bake was named Ziplist’s Email Elite winner “because of all the saving, cooking and sharing love it received”. Fun!

Congrats on having your recipe chosen! My dad is a hot brown devotee–I think he’d love that recipe.
I’m excited to hear about your Whole 30. So curious to hear how it goes, but first of all, which recipes you choose for it!
Thanks so much for the mention. 🙂

Thinking about and planning for my Whole30 gives me a mix of fear and excitement. I’m not sure how this bread loving, velveeta eating, ice cream lover is going to do!
