I made this Sweet Italian Sausage Pasta Sauce on my son’s birthday. It was a tasty variation on pasta sauce. And it can be made in the slow cooker. The prep time is quick and then the crockpot does all the work.
I served this sauce over bow tie pasta. You can choose another shape, but since the sauce is hearty with sausage and bell peppers, I think penne, ziti or another larger shaped pasta would work better than spaghetti.
Serve this dish with a green salad and garlic bread and you’ll have a meal fit for a birthday dinner or a plain, old week night.
