Yes. This tasted just as good as it sounds.
And it couldn’t be any simpler to make. Just 2 ingredients!
I first saw the recipe on Pinterest. It comes from the blog Sticky Gooey Creamy Chewy. Such a fabulous idea!
I changed the recipe just a bit from the original. Instead of using evaporated milk, I used half & half.
I used my favorite Cuisinart counter-top ice cream maker. This recipe makes enough for 1 batch.
Nutella Ice Cream
- 1 jar Nutella
- 2 cups half & half
Spoon the Nutella into a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave 15 seconds at a time, stirring in between until Nutella is smooth and a little less stiff.
Pour half & half into the Nutella and stir until well blended. Follow the instructions on the ice cream maker to freeze.
This made 6 servings. It is rich, chocolatey and delicious.

You can even make this if you don’t own an ice cream maker (although I highly recommend getting one, because they are so fun!). See the directions at the end of the post on Sticky Gooey Creamy Chewy for instructions.
I’m showing this off at Mingle Monday at Add a Pinch.

What size jar of Nutella? Looks yummy!
Tiffany says
I forgot to write down how many ounces, but it was the regular sized (smaller) jar, not the more giant sized one.
Luda says
How many ounces did you use of Nutella?
Thanks!:)
Tiffany says
Luda, it’s 13 ounces.

Just placed an Amazon order for the ice cream maker, Cuisinart is a great brand & we have been looking for one so nice to have a review from you. Bet the grandkids are going to love this! Will have to try the recipe when we get it!

You will love your ice cream maker! So much faster than the old models that use salt and ice. Enjoy!

Got the ice cream maker & we love it, how fun to have ice cream ready to eat in 30 minutes! I started out using the recipes in the booklet that comes with it. The vanilla calls for 2 cups heavy cream & 1 cup whole milk. While the flavor & consistancy was great, it left a greasy film in my mouth that we didn’t enjoy, then made the choc recipe, way to dark choc, almost bitter. Then I wised up & looked back here & yay for all the recipes! I am going to start with the choc one & work my way thru. LOVE this blog! Thanks Tiffany!!!

Try the Hot Cocoa ice cream too. So yummy!

Made the Hot Chocolate Ice Cream tonight, yummy! I went to our little local store (I live over 100 miles from a town of any size) & they were out of half & half if you can believe that. They did however have the fat free half & half. I am not crazy about using it as it has some ingredients I can’t even pronounce but I was determined to make the hot choc ice cream so I gave it a shot. Oh my goodness. I am just going to work my way thru all your ice cream recipes & if they are all as yummy as this we are in big big trouble! Thanks a bunch, we are so enjoying this little machine 🙂

I must admit, I was hesitant to ever try nutella. That was, until my almost 2 yr old decided he doesn’t like peanut butter. I tried a finger lick before making his N&J and thought I’d died and gone to heaven. I’m hooked. I think I, all by myself, ate half that jar. I am sooooooo going to be trying this – and possibly all the other nutella recipes on that website.
