Beans are such a great food to keep on hand. Both canned and dry beans can be stored in the pantry and have a long shelf life.
Beans are inexpensive and they’re a great way to add protein to meatless meals.
Here are a few of my favorite bean recipes:
Now it’s your turn! Link up any recipe on your blog that uses beans. It doesn’t have to be a recent post, just be sure to link directly to your recipe, not just the main page of your blog. I only ask that you include a link back to Eat at Home in your post. You can link directly to this post or use the button below.

Oy… I need to update some of my older pictures from when I wasn’t doing such a great job. Yikes. My youngest DOES NOT LIKE beans. We try to convince her it’s something else but it doesn’t work anymore. However, I do find that in soups I can blend them first before adding them to the soup and then she doesn’t know! Makes the soup a little thicker too.

Kristal, that’s a great idea for sneaking in beans. I need to go back through my old photos too and update. I’ve done some, but so many need it. That bean picture in today’s post is old, but I didn’t have any beans in the pantry and ran short of time to make a grocery run. That’s the way it goes sometimes!

I have oodles of bean recipes, but I’ll stop with the ones I’ve already linked. 🙂 If people only check out one of my links, then it should be crockpot beans (#18). It’s probably the most used recipe I’ve ever found and everyone who tried them is immediately hooked. They’re great whole or mashed, fresh or frozen, and I use them in any recipe that calls for black or pinto beans. Loooooove those beans!

Hi! I posted a link to our favorite BBQ Chickpea/Garbanzo Bean Chili recipe on our blog. We love it because it’s delicious and easy — after browning the ground turkey, it just simmers all day in the slow cooker 🙂

My husband will be thrilled about this post and my kids will cry. He loves beans and they think eating a bean is tragic!

What a variety of recipes. I could eat beans everyday. Hubby not so much. Maybe I will make some of these recipes just for me. I can always take some to my friend at work. Today I bring Ham and Bean Soup. This was great with the leftover ham bone from Easter dinner. Thanks for hosting. Have a wonderful week.

Tiffany, it’s funny you say that about kale…. that was the FIRST time I have ever had it in my life. I was so hesitant on even trying it because like you said, it’s so green, almost too green for me! ha! People kept talking about it so I decided to give it a try. It actually reminded me of cabbage in way. Give it a try! Let me know what you think! 🙂

Tiffany,
Thanks for hosting!
The thing I love the most about the ingredient spotlight is that I find I need to try more recipes with a certain ingredient. Like I KNOW I’ve made more than two recipes with beans but that’s all I’ve posted so far, ugh. Back to the kitchen I go….
Have a great week,
Michelle
