Banana Bread

Banana Bread recipe

Banana Bread is the very first recipe I ever shared on my site.  I use the same recipe that my mom has used for years.  It’s reliable, uses basic pantry ingredients and it’s easy to make.

The recipe hasn’t changed from my first post, but my photos and writing have.  I’ve been writing here since October 2008.  That’s a lot of years of practice.

Sometimes I think I’ve made every possible easy recipe under the sun.  So today I decided to go back to the basics.  The wonderful thing about basics is they ground you. These are the recipes that are full of memories.  The basics are comfort foods.

It doesn’t get more basic or more comforting than Banana Bread.

Here’s what you’ll need:

This is a great way for using up very ripe bananas.  I usually make it plain, but sometimes it’s fun to add pecans, walnuts or even chocolate chips.

  1. This has become my favorite banana bread recipe! I love it with the mini chocolate chips. I guess my bread pans (9×5) are bigger than yours because I can only get one large loaf or two little (almost flat!) loaves. I don’t mind getting one big loaf, though, because it comes out so moist. Thanks, Tiffany!

  2. I’m making this right now.

  3. Is it important for this recipe that all ingredients are in the same temperature? I have all ingredients to start baking, but have just taken out the eggs and the butter from the fridge.

  4. Perfect!

  5. This is the same as my mom’s recipe. We always add vanilla and black walnut flavoring. Yummy!!
