Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Stir apples, sugar, pie spice, cornstarch or flour and cream together in a bowl.
Mound apples in pie shell.
In another bowl, stir flour and brown sugar together.
Cut in butter with a pastry blender or fork to make crumbs.
Top pie with crumbs.
Bake at 450 for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 and bake about 20 more minutes or until apples are tender.
