Asian Glazed Oven Fried Chicken

Ingredients

for the chicken:

  • 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • scallions & sesame seeds for garnish {optional}

for the glaze:

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sliced scallions
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

Instructions

for the glaze:

  • Simply combine all of the ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.

for the chicken:

  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees, and spray a 9x13 baking dish with oil or cooking spray.
  • Whisk together the flour, milk & garlic in a medium, deep bowl. Place one chicken breast at a time in the bowl & flip to thoroughly coat in the batter. Move the chicken to the baking dish. Repeat wiht each breast.
  • Bake for 20 minutes, then remove from the oven and spoon about a 1/4 of the sauce over the chicken. Return to oven for another 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and spoon about another 1/4 of the sauce over the chicken. Return to the oven for another 10 minutes or until the chicken is done & no longer pink inside..
  • Place the chicken on a serving plate, and if desired, sprinkle with some additional scallion and/or sesame seeds. Serve the chicken with the remaining sauce for dipping*.

Notes

*I also used some of the remaining sauce to coat roasted broccoli & cauliflower that I served on the side with the chicken.
