Double Chocolate Bundt Cake

This cake always makes me remember bringing my now 11 year old son home from the hospital after he was born. My mom baked this cake and she brought me a big slice of it, probably offering to hold the little dumpling while I ate the cake.

Please tell me I’m not the only one to associate food with life events.

Banana Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have a confession. I don’t always use the bananas that get too ripe on my counter. I watch them spot and darken and shrivel. Then, instead of baking them into banana bread, I throw them away. There. Now you know the kind of person I am.

But the other day, I did rescue some old bananas from certain garbage. I wasn’t in the mood for Banana Bread or Cream Cheese Banana Bread with Orange Glaze, so I did a search on Tasty Kitchen and came up with this recipe.

Boardwalk Brownies

These are what happens when a desire to visit Disney World collides with a chocolate craving on a plain old Sunday afternoon. I found the recipe while buzzing around allears.net , a fantastic resource for planning or dreaming about a Disney trip. These brownies are made at the Boardwalk Bakery. I’ve never eaten the real deal, so I can’t tell you how close they come, but I can tell you they were fudgy, chocolatey and they didn’t last long.

50s Prime Time Meatloaf

The other day while I was thinking about Disney World, I started looking through recipes on AllEars.Net. Deb has an excellent collection of recipes for foods that are served in various WDW restaurants. I made note of several that I want to try, including this meatloaf which is served at the 50s Prime Time Cafe in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The meatloaf was easy to make, flavorful and moist. As a bonus, it made so much I turned it into two loaves and froze one for another time.
