A few notes about the menu, grocery list and recipes:
- The menu includes 6 dinners. That will give you a day to eat left overs, eat out or fix a family favorite.
- Two of the meals are crockpot dishes for those extra busy days. All of the meals are quick to fix.
- You get a bonus meal to put in the freezer. One night you’ll double your effort by making 2 meals in the same amount of time that it takes to make one.
- Recipes include serving suggestions. Those suggestions that are in bold are also included in curly brackets {} on the grocery list.
- If you’d like to see pictures and more detailed directions, here is the list to the recipe links.
Hash Brown Casserole with Smoked Sausage or Ham in the crockpot
Rustic Italian Sausage Pasta with Roasted Red Peppers and Two Cheese Sauce
Crockpot Cantonese Sweet and Sour Chicken

Wow! A friend shared your link with me and I just wanted to say thank you! I have been looking for some new recipes and it’s great to get it all at one spot. Thanks so much!
I don’t have a crockpot, so I use an enameled cast-iron pot in a low oven: 250-300 degrees F. I live in Texas, so I only do this in the winter. It has the added benefit of warming up the house so that I can turn my thermostat down.
Love this site and the recipes!! Thanks so much!
I was paying for a weekly menu to be sent to me. They were pretty good to so-s0, but these recipes look awesome!
Wow how nice to have a menu grocery list and recipes all in one place!
Thank you so much!
I LOVE your site! My girlfriend just sent me the link and I love it. This is going to make my life soooo much easier! Thank you for all the great recipes and keep up the good work!
Where is week 1? I wanted to send the link to my sister. Thanks for the great recipes.
A friend sent me to your site and it is the answer to my prayers. I am extremely meal planning challenged. I really am so tired of eating out. The food is not quality and expenses add up quickly. My husband and I both work and have stressful careers, the last thing I want to do is cook, but your planning and having everything organized in one spot is what I have been looking for. THANK YOU
Thanks for the wonderful recipes, but do you have more than 26 weeks? am I missing another website?
Thanks.
De
I love this website – but I would really like to see some more Gluten-Free recipes – we are a mostly gf household and while I can make a lot of adjustments it would be nice to have some gf things to make…good work and thanks for the help!!!
You are awesome! Thank you for making this public and free — it helps me SO much!
Hi! I just discovered your blog and it is just what I am looking for! I’ve already downloaded and printed out Week’s 1 menu! Thank you so much for doing this!
Oh wow!!! I just found your website today and I just can’t seem to get off this puter now!!! Thankyou so much for sharing all these wonderful recipes!!! Now I am motivated to get my crockpot out and cook away:)) My hubby will be so surprised!!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your site! Thanks for making straight forward, FAMILY FRIENDLY, BUDGET FRIENDLY delicious foods! I’m working on your “Budget” meal plan this week with the Depression Era bread. (My first meal plan I’ve used off your site!) I was nervous about actually baking my own bread but the house smells WONDERFUL can’t wait to try it! Thanks for a WONDERFUL SITE I stop by frequently!!
I posted a link to this on my blog. It’s fantastic, thank you!
I absolutely love this site. I stumbled upon it looking for recipes. I have tried week 35. My husband and I love the Chili Enchilada Bake. Thank You!
I was looking through your site, and I already downloaded different recipes for each week. I also started downloading recipes for “year 2″, but I only got to 9 of them, so I was wondering what happened to the rest of them.
Sara, if you click “Menus” in the category section in the sidebar, you can find links to all the Year 2 menus.
I just happened upon your blog through another blogger and wanted to say your site is AWESOME!
I just browsed through some recipes and I can’t wait to try them.
You’ve got a new follower. Hope you’ll take a minute to check me out.
I officially want to marry you! (kidding) I love the changes to your already fabulous blog and these weekly menus – “LIKE”. Just want to tell you.
Just found this site. First week grocery trip done. I edited the grocery list to change up a couple of the meals due to food allergies and picky family members. As a working mom this looks like a huge help! I am curious as to how the monthly grocery/takeout expenses will change.
Beth, I’m so glad the menus are a help. Keep me posted on the costs and how that goes!
I am a crazy menu planning type of mom. I have made weekly menus for years and love the simplicity of this. You have taken the hard work of trying to fit in new recipes and lo cost meals into one. My only complaint/suggestion is that i would like to know your serving sizes for each meal. i have a family of 8 that i feed so planning ahead is very important to me. Other than that THANK YOU for your help!!!
Korie, I’m notoriously bad about remembering to add serving sizes. I also find they are relative (a family of 6 with toddlers will not eat as much as a family of 4 with teen boys). I have 6 people in my family. My kids are 19 yrs down to 9 yrs old, so most of my recipes will serve 6-8. Some serve more than that and I often mention that in the post, especially if I can get two meals from it. I’m trying to be better about remembering to add serving sizes
Well I am overly excited about your website. i have a 2″ black binder with a whole years worth of your menu printed and bound. My kids laugh at me cause i tell them no one is allowed to touch my black book. lol As far as the serving suggestions it would be a big help but as i cook meals i am writing down if I should double them myself or not. Thanks so much.
