When my kids were very small, and there were fewer of them, I used to make this dish often. Somewhere along the line, I forgot about it. A very sad thing, because this pie is healthy, easy and tastes great. The recipe is lightly adapted from the Whole Foods for the Whole Family cookbook.
I have a young friend named Abby, who has started a business this summer making and selling homemade doggie treats. I bought some from her and told her I would feature her recipe here on Eat at Home, but I don’t have a dog or any pets at all. So, I let my daughter’s pet rock introduce the treats. And I borrowed my neighbor’s cute little dogs to sample them. Maybe you’ve got a dog you’d like to make treats for. Or maybe you’ve got a child who would like to start a little business themselves.
The other morning I woke up and realized there was no food to serve for breakfast. And I had company. (Please tell me I’m not the only person this unprepared!) These muffins came to the rescue, as they have in the past. They’re also good to fill out a meal of soup.
Super easy to make and better for you than store-bought mixes. This recipe is adapted from the Whole Foods for the Whole Family cookbook.
Gather up your ingredients:
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup oil
2 Tbs. brown sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 cups whole wheat flour
In a mixer bowl, put the eggs, milk, and oil. Mix until well blended. Stir the dry ingredients together and add to the mixer bowl, mixing until blended. Cook on a hot waffle iron.
While the waffles cook, gather up your Honey Cinnamon Butter ingredients:
