Game Day Recipes

Every where you turn, there’s talk about the big game coming up. Everyone is gearing up for what seems sure to be quite the match. And me? Well, I’m not really a football fan. But I am most certainly a fan of anything that gives me a chance to make some fun food and for everyone to get together to enjoy it. And game nights, especially big game day nights, are perfect for fun food.

I thought, in honor of the game, I’d share some of our favorites with you. There’s lots of easy loaded nachos, some great dips and a couple of football themed recipes to add some flair to the party.

One of the common denominators between all of these recipes is they are finger friendly and snacky, making them perfect for snacking and watching at the same time. Those are two big requirements in our house for game day food!

Whatever team you are routing for, I hope you enjoy a good time with your family and friends…and some good eats too! May the best team win.

Buffalo Chicken Loaded Baked Potatoes – Perfect for Super Bowl

ALDI Buffalo Chicken Loaded Baked Potatoes

Super Bowl is coming!  And with it, the most important part – the food, of course.

I’m not a huge football fan, but I do love food.  When ALDI asked me to create a recipe that would be perfect for Super Bowl parties, Buffalo Chicken popped into my mind.

I love using the slow cooker, and that works great for cooking the chicken and keeping it hot during the party.  Grab a second slow cooker for the baked potatoes, if you’ve got one handy.

Using small sized potatoes keeps this dish appetizer sized.  That’s great for parties, because you’ll still have plenty of room to try all the other foods being served.

But this recipe also makes a great weeknight dinner.  Use large, baking potatoes. Serve it with a big green salad and roasted broccoli.  It’s a great twist on a plain Tuesday night.

Here’s what you’ll need to make Buffalo Chicken Loaded Baked Potatoes.  All of the ingredients can be found at ALDI, so you know you’ll get them for a good price too.   [Read more…]

Super Bowl Food

You don’t have to know me very well to know that I’m not a big time football fan.  But that doesn’t mean I don’t like the food!  My plan for Sunday is to make a few of these recipes, have a fire in the fireplace and conk out on the couch with a good book.  If someone turns on football, that’s fine but I’ll enjoy the day whether there’s a game or not.

If you’re having a Super Bowl party, you’re going to want to check out how to make the Easy Snackadium.  It will feed a small crowd and it’s lots of fun!

Our recent Bacon-fest party has a ton of Super Bowl worthy recipes linked up.  It’s definitely worth looking over.

Thai Chili Chicken Egg Rolls are a crowd pleaser.
