I just love fall. The cool crisp air. The gorgeous vibrant colors. And of course, most of all, the wonderful, aromatic flavors of autumn ingredients. Caramel Fudge S’more Nachos

It’s like a S’more.  Only built like a nacho.

Oh yeah, and it has caramel.  And fudge.

And you don’t hold it on a stick over a fire.

I’d love to say this idea was mine, but it wasn’t.  Original idea belongs to George Duran.  I saw the title on his website and decided to run with it.  Mine are constructed different than his.  I didn’t check out his recipe until after I made them.  He uses chocolate bars and constructs them in a skillet.

Gooey Turtle Bars

Gooey Turtle Bars

A layer of caramel.  A layer of chocolate.  A layer of pecans.  How can you go wrong with that?

A friend of mine gave me a recipe for Turtle Brownies probably 15 years ago.  I’ve never made them.  The other day I ran across the recipe, but didn’t have the right ingredients.  No problem.  I altered the recipe liberally and came up with Gooey Turtle Bars.  Very yummy! [Read more…]
