Apple Crisp in the Slow Cooker

I’m on a roll with slow cooked desserts.  This apple crisp is an adaptation of my Apple Crinkle.

I decided to give it a whirl in the slow cooker and it turned out beautifully.  I dressed it up a bit with a handful of dried cranberries and chopped pecans.

That’s my kind of food!

The pancakes are sweetened with molasses and spiced with ginger, cinnamon and allspice.  But it’s the Sweet Cider Syrup that steals the show.

Apple Cider Cake

We’ve already covered the beauty of a dressed up cake mix in last week’s Ingredient Spotlight. The recipe for this cake continues that theme.

I almost named it Apple Cider Donut Cake, because it reminds me of them.  The cake is moist, with a whisper of apple flavor.  It tastes wonderful with a glass of apple cider. [Read more…]
