Apron Winner and Wow!

These last two days have been amazing! First the Spring Fling with the Apron Giveaway and today you all have blown me away with your response to my request for 100 comments for the Global Food Crisis Fund. We’ve more than made it! For a blog that gets around 15-20 comments per post that is exciting. You all really came together and made it happen, just like people are coming together to help feed the hungry around the world. I’m going to keep my eye on the comment number and maybe our partnership of givers can give a dollar for each one, since we exceeded the goal!

Now for the winner of the Apron – Superjaxster at Blogging Jax!

Thank you all so much for entering the apron giveaway and for your comments to benefit the Global Food Crisis Fund. Tomorrow we’ll be back to regular cooking around here!

Your comment is worth $1 for the Global Food Crisis Fund

Have you noticed the cost of your groceries increasing rapidly?  You are not alone.  The cost of food all over the world has risen dramatically, an average of 80% increase since 2005.  Many of us feel this in our family budgets, but for people who are trying to live on just $1 a day the high cost of food is devastating.
A small partnership of people have pledged to give $1 for each comment left here on Eat at Home today, up to $100.  The money will be sent to Compassion Global Food Crisis Fund.  Your comment will feed a child for 2 days!  Help us get to 100 comments.
I encourage you to check out the Compassion website to learn more about the Global Food Crisis or to donate.  If you do that, let me know in your comments.  Or tell me about your local food mission, or another organization working to end hunger.  Or just say “hi”.  Any comment counts, but please don’t leave without commenting today.  It’s such a simple thing to do and will have a big impact.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another recipe, but today let’s band together to fight hunger around the world.
