I shopped with a Weekly Meal Plan list this week, even though I knew I’d be creating a few new recipes. That’s one of the things I love about using the Weekly Meal Plan grocery lists – they are so easily customizable. Since the recipes use common ingredients, chances are I’ll need everything on the list as some point in the near future.
I used the grocery list for the Slow Cooker Plan July 29. Members have access to the whole month at a time and you can choose to use the plans in any order you like. Or use them in the order that’s give. Either way works.
I didn’t shop until Monday this week. Saturday, we went to Ohio to help Jim’s parents move. My mother-in-law saves all kinds of memorabilia. She handed Jim a box of stuff that included a booklet with pictures from his Freshman class of college. We found this photo inside:
That is not Jim. It’s just some guy that he went to college with. And he looks exactly like our oldest son. I mean exactly. See:
Some of those photos of our son are from when he was a bit younger. He hates having his photo taken (like me), so I found the few I could find. And now, I can just use the one of his twin!
We have laughed and laughed about this. We even tried to google the guy from the college book, but he must be living off-grid, because we can’t find much.
After all this hilarity over Peter’s twin from 1980, plus helping my in-laws move, we ordered pizza for dinner on Saturday.
Sunday, we ate leftover pizza and grilled hamburgers left from Friday.
Monday was grocery shopping day. I had a recipe to create and shoot, so we had Not Your Mama’s Tuna Noodle Casserole for dinner. You’re going to love this one! I know we did. It was topped with Salt and Pepper Kettle Chips. So good! Recipe coming next Tuesday.
Tuesday, I created another new recipe. It’s a winner also and I know we’ll be adding it to the rotation. Everyone loved it. I’ll be sharing it soon too.
Wednesday, was youth group night and Jim traveled that day and somehow lost his iPhone somewhere in Tennessee. It’s never been found. I made Blueberry Pancakes and bacon for dinner.
Thursday, I got another box from Stitch Fix. This time, I kept three items. Here’s one of the shirts I kept. I like it for the fun print and it looks really great with a cardigan sweater I already own. I love getting to try on items at home with my other clothes. And I really love not having to darken the door of an actual store. I am not a good shopper.
And I kept this necklace. I love this one!
I’m really hoping that Stitch Fix will come through with a dress for me to wear to my daughter’s wedding. So far, I haven’t liked the dresses they’ve sent, but I keep trying. I’m hoping to not have to go to an actual store. And do actual shopping. If you’d like to try Stitch Fix for yourself, here’s my affiliate link.
For dinner on Thursday I made grilled ham slices, summer squash and tomatoes, sweet potato fries and melon. Quick and summery!
Now it’s Friday and I’ve convinced Jim to take us all out to eat. Yay for a night out!
