  33. Fantastic giveaway!!

  34. Brenda S. says:

I would love to win this crock pot. My old crock pot developed a vertical crack in the “crock”, so I am unable to use it. I wonder if the frozen meat I put in it could have caused the crack? I LOVE receiving your emails. You always have wonderful ideas and recipes for me to try.

    • Brenda, you not EVER supposed to place frozen meats in a Crock Pot!!!!! More than likely, that is why yours did develop a crack!!!
Please always thaw any meats before placing them into a Crock Pot!!!!
I hope that this is helpful to you!

    • Brenda I put frozen food in my Crockpot all the time and have never had a problem with my crock cracking or with food safety issues! Sometimes there are defects in the crocks (just like with everything else!) One sure fire way to crack it though is if you put it in the fridge and then put it into the pot while it’s still cold, without allowing the crock to come up to room temperature first. This will crack it for sure! But I’ve never had one crack just because I put frozen food in it!

      • Kari ~
I’m glad to know that I’m not the only one to put frozen food in the crockpot. I believe that I learned that “shortcut” from Tiffany, here on “eat at home”! Life gets so busy that I am always looking for ways to save time. Thanks for your input.

      • An amazing crock pot recipe called, so you forgot to defrost, takes frozen boneless, skinless chicken breasts, a large can cream of chicken, one small can sliced mushrooms, drained, set on low 8-10 hours. I can not count how many days I used this recipe, the chicken falls to pieces, and the flavors are amazing. Always start this recipe in a crock pot that is not heated. I cracked a crock pot once when I added cold foods to an empty heated crock pot.

  35. Rochelle Dunsbergen says:

I would love-love-love to win this! Crock pots are my best friend in the kitchen with 3 under 6 and 1 on the way!

  36. Oooh, this looks like a really nice one, mine is older than dirt.

  37. Thanks for a great giveaway. I would love a new crockpot with timer – WOW!

  38. What a Wonderful Giveaway! I need a crockPot, as I had one………..It was one of those old ones, an early ones from the 70’s……..It stopped working. The yellow metal was rusted out, and the nobs would fall off if you messed with it too much!!! I had to pitch it when it stopped working…….
I kept the cooking insert, and lid and have been looking for a new to me body for it….LOL
    Happy Holidays Everyone!!!! 🙂

  39. I can almost smell all the delightful things I can cook in this great giveaway.. !!

  46. Cheryl Newton says:

At least once a week … if I’m diligent about meal-planning, that is.

  47. Jennifer S says:

I would love to win this.. I have one crockpot and it really isn’t enough!

  48. NovaScotiaCook says:

I’ve entered the contest to win the slow cooker. As my chances of winning are pretty slim I am wondering what make/model of slow cooker you use and would recommend. I presently have a Rival but find that it takes so much longer than the usual time allotment for cooking either on low or high, so figure it is time to invest in a new one. With this being the Christmas season, I plan to treat myself and go in search of one but with so many on the market just not sure which would be the best bang for my buck.

    • I have 2 large slow cookers. One is a 6qt West Bend. The other I’ve only used once so far and it is 5.5 qt. Crock-Pot that’s programmable. I also have a couple of much smaller ones that I use for oatmeal and such. I think most of the slow cookers on the market are good. Get one that is the size you will need most often. You want to be able to fill it fairly full for most recipes, so it won’t cook too hot. The programmable kind are nice, especially if you need to have it flip to warm before you’ll be getting home so that your food won’t over cook. If you’re usually home when you use it, then the regular kind is just fine.

  49. Virginia R says:

I could use a new one. it’s one of the few things on my Christmas list 🙂

  50. says:

Thanks for the chance to win a great crockpot!! I use mine weekly.

  51. Heather B. says:

    Wow! That would be nice!

  52. Good luck to everyone , great prize.
