Best of 2012: Main Dishes

I’m participating in Finding Joy in My Kitchen’s Best of 2012 series this week.  Today, we’re sharing main dishes.

I have a lot, lot, lot of main dish recipes that I posted in 2012.  I’ve just chosen some of my family’s favorites for this list.

First up, Easy Slow Cooker Pork Carnitas.  Yum!

Italian Seasoned Salt and White Wine Pork Roast was our Christmas dinner again this year.  It’s so easy and good.  And here’s a slow cooker version that cooks with the potatoes.

3 Ingredient Teriyaki Beef with Pineapple is an easy weeknight dinner, a little different from most slow cooker recipes.

Kentucky Hot Brown Bake has been one of the most popular recipes on EaH since I posted it.  And for good reason – it’s delish!

We loved these Mini Deep Dish Pizzas from contributing writer, Kate.

Skillet Chicken, Peppers and Tomatoes is fast and full of flavor too.

Crab Cakes with Creamy Sauce were wonderful!

African Pulled Beef Sandwiches in the Slow Cooker with Yogurt-Mint Sauce was an attempt at a copy-cat recipe that I’d never tried.  They are served in Animal Kingdom in Disney World.  I heard about them on Disney Food Blog and went about trying to recreate based on the description.  The result is wonderful, but apparently they don’t taste like the Animal Kingdom version.  I must get down there and try the real deal!

Roasted Garlic, Brown Butter and Parmesan Pasta is a fantastic 15 minute meal.  This one has made it into the regular rotation for nights when I have little time and no plan.

These Slow Cooker Beans for the Freezer have also become a staple in our house.

Pepperoni Pizza Pasta is another 15 minute meal that we make regularly.  This one even showed up on the table when we visited Disney World in May.  Cooking for 15 minutes is a fine trade-off for saving big $$$ on eating out.

Do you have a new favorite main dish recipe for 2012?
