Streamlining and Scheduling Tools that Work for Me

Shares 0

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been trying to get my act together now that school is starting.  I’ve been searching for ways to streamline and  schedule just about every activity that this family is involved in.

And in my quest, I’ve run across a few things that I have to share with you.  Just in case you’re trying to streamline and schedule everything that moves in your house too.

Slow Cooker Giveaway

First, see that awesome slow cooker up there?  Robin at Add a Pinch is giving away 3 of them.  I’ve had my eye on that slow cooker for a couple of years.  I still haven’t hit the “buy now” button on it for myself, but I hope one of you can win one from Robin.  By the way, she’s a fun foodie to follow, so if you’ve never checked out her blog have a look around over there after you enter.

Planners I Use

Ever since I posted this photo,  people keep asking me what kind of planner is in the picture.

So here are the details on the planner:  It’s an Erin Condren Life Planner.  I bought it a year ago and I love it.  I’m not sure I could function without it.  Each day has space to write for morning, day and night.  There’s space to list goals and to do lists for each week.  It includes month-at-a-glance calendars, tabbed months, and more.  As a bonus, it’s colorful and cheery.

The only thing I don’t like about it is the size.  I wouldn’t actually change it, because the size is necessary to make it so functional.  But it is big to carry around.

Enter Cozi Family Organizer.  Cozi is a free online/mobile calendar for the family.  I’ve heard about it before, but we just recently started using it.

Oh my goodness, it is making it so easy to keep up with all of our schedules.  Last year, we tried using Google calendar as a family, but we failed.  We could never make it sync and it just didn’t work for us.  But Cozi is one account for the whole family.  And there’s a free mobile app too.

I’m thinking that with my Life Planner and Cozi, I may be invincible.  Or at least, I won’t forget another orthodontist appointment.

Academic Calendar Giveaway

I told you I’ve been trying to organize everything that moves in our house.  I also want to help/encourage/force my kids to be organized.  So, I was super excited to read The Organizing Junkie‘s post the other day.  She featured an academic planner that looks wonderful.  She’s also giving one away one her site.  Go enter!  I’ve already ordered one for my son, who takes after me and was definitely not born organized.

Home Management Binder Sale

Last winter, I told you about the Home Management Binder by Phoebe Hendricks.  I love this ebook (or workbook, rather) because it not only has everything you need to organize your home, it also includes Debt Snowball Sheet, Bill Payment Schedules and Goal Worksheets.  If you’re looking to gain real control over you home management and finances, this is for you.

And it’s on sale now through the end of the year for just $5.  Phoebe will be updating the Home Management Binder with new calendars and features for 2013, but $5 for the current version is a great deal.

Do you have a favorite planner or organizer you use?  Tell me about it in the comments.
