I love the recipe that you roll the dill pickle with cream cheese and a slice of corned beef. Well, way too much work. Simple shred the pickle (can ONLY use the really good ones that are kept in the cooler next to the cream cheese), dice the Buddig corned beef, mix into the cream cheese, let sit for several hours and serve. I won’t guarantee the recipe if you don’t use the good pickles.

My favorite cream cheese recipes are the Philadelphia Cheesecake (on the package of cream cheese) and my universal cream soup recipe: I take frozen broccoli (or any other veggie), put it in a pan with a can of chicken broth and cook until broccoli is done. I then add 1 block of cream cheese (cubed) and enough milk to make a creamy soup consistency. A dash of onion or garlic powder and herbs adds flavor, as well as a little salt and pepper. If thicker soup is desired, mix a few tablespoons of corn starch into the milk and mix in. Heat well until lightly simmering. This is a delicious soup topped with homemade croutons!

  92. Shreela says:

Although I love Philly Cream Cheese in SO many recipes, my absolute favorites are the ones my hubby can make all by himself, yet they still taste awesome. Therefore, my favorite Philly Cream Cheese recipes are Smoked Salmon Dip, and Fruity Chipotle Dip:

    Smoked Salmon Dip

    1 block Philly Cream Cheese
    1 6 oz can Salmon – drained
    1 Tbsp Liquid Smoke

Use a fork to combine everything.

Optional: Put dip into cling wrap, either shape in ball or log, roll in chopped nuts or parsley. If your DH is like mine, this will be skipped LOL

    —————

    Fruity Chipotle Dip

    1 block Philly Cream Cheese
1/2 bottle of Raspberry or Blueberry with Chipotle sauce

Pour sauce over Philly Cream Cheese, and eat with crackers (nice with Triscuits). I prefer to cut the cream cheese into small squares before pouring sauce over it – not only is it easier to place on crackers, but more the increase surface area gets covered with sauce. But of course when DH makes this, it’s just one big block of cream cheese LOL

PS: Both these dips are great for people recovering from dental surgery ^_^

    Easy Fruit N’cheese Danish
1 pkg refrigerated crescent style rolls
    4 oz softened cream cheese
    2 Tbsp sugar
1/2 can more cherry – cherry pie filling
    1/2c powdered sugar
    2 Tbsp milk

Separate rolls into 4 rectangles and lay out into one large rectangle.
    Pinch all cut edges together.
Using a sharp knife make 1/2″ cuts from outer edge along the sides, in
toward center about 2″. It should look similar to a fringe on both sides.
Next mix softened cream cheese with sugar and spoon a row of it up the center of the dough rectangle.
Next spoon the cherry filling over the cream cheese.
Then fold the cut fringe over the filling just past the center alternating each side.
Bake at 350 for 17-20 minutes or until golden. Cool 10 minutes.
Mix powdered sugar and milk into a glaze and drizzle back and forth over Danish.

My fav cream cheese recipe is “The Cheeseball That Men Love”. 8 oz. cream cheese, 1 Tbls. worchestire sauce, 8 oz. chopped roast beef, thinly sliced green onions. Leave enough beef to cover the ball and mix all the rest together, then roll in beef to cover. Always a big hit!

One of my favorite recipes is Blanco Mexican Dip. It’s a traditional meat/Rotel dip, but has cream cheese in it, as well. I’m pretty sure I could eat an entire crock pot full. When I make a double recipe for church get-togethers, it’s always one of the first dishes to empty. My boyfriend’s kids love it, and his daughter is SUPER picky. I put the recipe in our local high school’s cookbook and also in The Logger’s Wife cookbook. Looking back, I kind of wish I had kept the recipe a secret!
