Menu, Grocery List, Recipes Year 3 Week 11

If you print the menu today (or even if you don’t), I’d love for you to leave a comment.  I’m curious how often you use the menus or if this is your first time printing one, etc.

Every week, the menu gets downloaded a couple hundred times.  I’m just curious who’s doing the downloading :)

This week’s menu is below.  If you make the Zesty Chicken in the slow cooker before the Mandarin Chicken Rice Bake, you’ll have chicken to use for that casserole.

As always, you get 6 dinners and 1 dessert.  Serving suggestions are included in bold on the recipes and in curly brackets on the grocery list.

Grilled Fish Sandwiches with Homemade Tartar Sauce, Ranch Veggie Salad, french fries

Italian Sausage Enchiladas, salad, chips and salsa

Loaded Baked Potatoes with Homemade Cheese Sauce, salad

Italian Chicken Melts, Pasta Soup, salad

Mandarin Chicken Rice Bake, steamed green veggie

Zesty Chicken in the Slow Cooker with couscous, steamed green veggie

Dad’s Brownie Sundaes

  1. I meal plan by the week on the weekend and use a variety of recipes so I don’t use your menus, just your recipes but I always check out what you’ve blogged about when you post your menus…..

  2. I Love EAT AT HOME COOKS…I use your menus when I meal plan. Mostly just to get an idea of what I am able to cook. Also since in my family it is just my husband and i and our 1 year old, usually 2-3 meals can get us through a whole week. Thanks for your GENIOUS ideas and I love your grocery lists and I love that most of your recipes are going to ZipList yet another GENIOUS idea! Happy MOnday

    • Julie, thanks for your comment! I’m glad the menus are helpful. I remember when we were a family of 3, food seemed to go so far. Now with teen boys…well, lets’ just say they eat a lot!

  3. I used to use your recipe’s religiously. With three kids and my husband and I in school full time, I forget to cook, or grocery shop more often than I’d like to admit!! However the business of life has caused me to “Slack” per se. I love that your recipes are so easy to make, and loved by everyone in the family. The variety, and the HUGE PLUS of pairing side dishes is great for me. I’m SO BAD about doing that!!
My other favorite element is the well-organized grocery list. I can get in and out of the grocery store in an hour with the layout you give! otherwise I find myself scrambling, missing things and having to hunt down one or two items after I’m finished!! Thank you SO much!

  4. I have been a Fan of Eat at Home Cooks for a couple of years now. I am guilty of downloading and printing your menu plans! :o) LOVE IT! Thanks for sharing your menu and recipes with us.

  5. I don’t print out the menu plans per se, but I have many of your meals in my rotations. This particular meal plan looks like one I actually would print and use as is, but often there is a meal or two that just won’t work for my family (pork not a fave for instance) but I almost ALWAYS find at least 1 or 2 meals that will work perfectly. LOVE the menu plan feature though – you have no idea how much this has helped me this past year be better prepared to feed my family!

  6. I don’t print out all the meals, but rather click on the dinners that I know my whole family would like & then print those. I LOVE the variety you give us!

  7. I have been printing your menus. I think this is the fourth I have pulled up from your site and I have used both in your ecookbook. I love them! They make my life much less stressful. I hate meal planning! And now I don’t have to :) Plus, so far my family has enjoyed all of the recipes. Bonus!

  8. I’ve printed a few of the menus. We eat at home pretty much all the time and you really help me keep our meals fresh and interesting! Thank you!!

  9. I just found your website a few weeks ago. I religiously meal plan week after week and needed new inspiration. I love how you put the menus together- w/ a slow cooker and a veggie and a dessert – that is basically how I try and structure my meal plans. Like some of the other ladies, I generally have to pick out some but not all of the recipes as my kids are super picky (I personally think they all sound delicious). I don’t use the grocery list b/c a) like I said I usually don’t use all the recipes and b) I keep a running grocery list during the week so I just add to it what I need from the recipes. I have recommended your site to a few friends who need the full grocery list as well. anyway – I also love that your recipes are fairly straightforward AND mostly healthy and fresh. A lot of “easy meals” involve way too many cans of condensed soup for my liking. ;-)
Thanks for doing such a great job!

  10. I just found your site today! It is just great and thank you so much for providing such great information and recipes to everyone! I’m a SAHM and have a busy schedule so easy and organized is the best way for me to create meals for my family! Thank you for this great site!!!!

  11. Hi there. I’ve been using your site every week since about October. I hate planning menus! Thanks for your hard work!

I have downloaded several of your weeks of recipes. I love this site, the only recommendation that I would make is if you could somehow have grocery lists per recipe so you could mix and match recipes and then come up with a grocery list from the recipes you choose. I don’t like seafood/fish and I have to copy and paste “weeks” and recipes/grocery lists to what I would actually cook.

    • Rima, you can do that with Ziplist. You can even combine recipes from different sites. I’m still working on getting all my recipes in the Ziplist format. If you run across one that isn’t on there yet, leave a comment and I’ll switch it over as soon as I can. The grocery list with Ziplist looks different than mine, but it’s nice that you can use different recipes in it.
