Menu, Grocery List, Recipes Year 2 Week 47

Do you feel back in the swing of things with the new school year yet?  I’m not sure I’ve got a handle on it.

I keep thinking if I had a blog on organizing, maybe I’d have my act together.  I did purchase a new calendar and I’m determined to actually use it.  In the past, I’ve had a bad habit of keeping our family calendar in my head.  You know how well that would work out!

I’ve made Sunday nights my planning night, which I need to adjust because Saturday is my grocery day and meals need to be planned for the shopping trip.

I do have a menu and grocery list all ready for you though.  As always, you get 6 dinners and 1 dessert.  Serving suggestions are included in bold on the recipes and in curly brackets {} on the grocery list.

Here’s what’s on the menu this week:

Tropical Tilapia with Pineapple Salsa and Coconut Rice, steamed broccoli
Chicken Shwarma in the Slow Cooker, salad
Southwestern Steak and Cornbread Dressing in the Slow Cooker, corn, salad
Broccoli and Tomato Tortellini Salad, warm bread
Swiss and Bacon Quiche, steamed veggie, salad
Linda’s BBQ Ham Sandwiches, Oven Fried Portatoes, carrot sticks
Coconut No Bake Cookies

  1. I live in PA and we have bbq ham sammies too. Yum. I boil the ham a bit first in water to get some of the greasiness out. Hope you have a great week.

  2. Do you plan the week Sunday night along with the menu planning? Maybe you could do the menu planning at a different time and keep the Sunday night planning for other stuff.

    I’m using Springpad to do my menu planning, but I think I’m going to switch to Evernote. Springpad won’t let me scroll down the screen when I’m choosing categories. Not good when I’ve got a lot of categories!

    Looking forward to going through the recipes!

  4. Hi, I just discovered the MPM linky list and am browsing through checking out people’s menu plans for the week. I try every so often to plan out what I’m going to eat when, but the plan often ends up falling apart due to changes of plan and random cravings for something not on the menu.

  5. I really need to get better at planning my entire week. I plan my dinners for a month but the rest of my menu tends to be spur of the moment.
