This menu is full of some of my favorite dishes. So much so, I actually printed this menu and took it to the store on Saturday.
See, I don’t always use the menus I provide here. That would be convenient, but then I wouldn’t have all kinds of new recipes to share with you. So I usually wing it at the grocery, buying common pantry ingredients with a few inspiration ingredients thrown in. Then I invent new dishes.
I’ve got to say though, it was truly nice to be able to print and shop. And I’ve found that I can easily alter the menu for something new, because most all of my recipes use common ingredients. So even if I don’t make one of the meals, the foods can still be used in something else later.
We had the Italian Seasoned Salt Chicken on Sunday, but I didn’t have time to cook it in the slow cooker. I popped it in the oven instead, for about 1 1/2 – 2 hours while we were at church. It worked wonderfully.
On the menu, you get 6 dinners and 1 dessert, as always. Serving suggestions are included in bold on the recipes and in curly brackets {} on the grocery list.
Here’s what’s on the menu this week:
- Italian Seasoned Salt Chicken in the Slow Cooker, couscous, steamed green veggie
- Garlic Lime Tilapia, baked potatoes, salad
- Broccoli Tomato Tortellini Salad, garlic bread
- Chicago Style Pizza Pot Pie, salad
- Honey Hoisin Chicken in the slow Cooker, rice, steamed veggie
- Lentil Tacos, salad, chips & salsa
- Lemon Cheesecake Dessert
