Spilled milk.
Sometimes when I go to a coffee shop (not often) in the evening, instead of getting coffee I like to get steamed vanilla milk. They use the steamer on the espresso machine to froth warm milk and add a shot of vanilla syrup.
It’s easy to replicate at home. Vanilla syrup can be bought in the coffee section of the grocery store. Add a bit to a cup of milk and microwave it to warm. Then give it a good stir. I use a little battery powered whisk I bought at Ikea for under $2. You can see I got a little carried away with the whisking and made a mess.

I want to wish my Mother-in-law and Father-in-law happy anniversary! 50 years ago today they said “I do”. They have loved each other and served God together ever since. They are a wonderful example and blessing.

50 years–how wonderful! Wishing them a super-special day.
I love steamers. I have to do soy milk (lactose intolerance–boo) and I usually choose either vanilla or hazelnut syrup. YUUUM!
wow– what a testimony and example in marriage. Beautiful.
We make this beverage too — we call it snow tea
We use steamed milk, a little sugar and vanilla rather than syrup and it’s my favorite fall/winter beverage.
Love the name “snow tea”. I’ve used sugar and vanilla too and it works great.
So smart! my kids would love it… a chance to have a grown up drink (like coffee) but without the caffeine! Love your ideas!
Congrats to your in-laws. How rare. I’m working on 42 yrs with my very special spouse. My secret ingredient to a happy marriage– don’t sweat the little stuff. He’s not supposed to be you, you’re not supposed to be him. Let each other be different.
As to the vanilla milk, I like mine with a bit of caramel. *sigh* Heaven.
Barb, wonderful marriage advice! And caramel – mmmm! – I’m going to have to try that.
I love drinking this at Starbucks. I had completely forgotten about it…I am going to have to make it soon!
