I really like this week’s menu.  It makes good use of the grill and slow cooker so you only have to turn the oven on to make the Blueberry Cobbler, which is totally worth heating up the house.

Speaking of slow cookers, here’s a tip: On the night you fix the Grilled Round Steak bake the potatoes in the slow cooker.  Just wrap them in foil and put them in the crock.  Cook them on high for 4-5 hours or low for 7-8 hours.

If you haven’t had a chance to make my Homemade Seasoned Salt yet, this week is a good time to try it.  You’ll use it in 3 different dishes.  It’s very easy to mix up.  In the recipe I give amounts for a small version and a larger version.  I recommend mixing up the larger amount, because you will find all kinds of uses for it.  I think it’s much better than regular seasoned salt.

  5. have you ever tried baking potatoes in a crockpot with no foil, sitting on a bed of kosher salt? The potatoes come out with a dry skin and fluffy inside. They’re like having restaurant potatoes.
