Menu, Grocery List, Recipes – Week 45

Shares 0

Every week nearly 150 of you download the new menu and grocery list.  The first two weeks of menus have been downloaded a combined 6500 times!

I’m glad that the menus are helpful to so many of you.  It’s amazing to me that something I sit at my kitchen table and type out each week can reach so many people.

I appreciate all of you!  If you have ever downloaded, printed and used one of these menus and grocery lists, please leave me a comment.  I love hearing from readers, because it lets me get to know you a little bit.

Now, onto the menu.  As always, there are 6 dinners and 1 dessert.  Serving suggestions are included in bold on the recipes and in curly brackets {} on the grocery list.

  1. Tiffany,

Have seen the black bean & corn chicken dish before — think I’ll make it for dinner one night this week. We are all craving mexican!!!!
Love your site it is one of the first we go to for our freezer cooking. The blackbean, corn mango salad from last month (minus the chicken) make a great salsa — I come home with an empty bowl everytime — plus by two teenage boys request it (one eats it by the bowl!). Thanks for all your recipes.

  2. Thank you so much for doing this. It is very generous to spend your time this way. I did the original menu a few weeks after you started this feature. The nachos were my absolute favorite. So yummy!!! I recently tried the banana, chocolate chip, pecan bars a week after you posted them. I saw them and knew I had to make them. So, so good. Definitely a cross between banana bread and chocolate chip cookies. My family and I ate those quickly. I stop by your website every day to see what you come up with.

    • Thanks for your comment, Tracy! The nachos are one of our favorites too. I make them frequently. I sometimes wonder which recipes become favorites for other families too. Thanks for sharing!

  3. Your meals look great, but the PB Cookie Pudding I WILL run home and make!

    • Amanda, the peanut butter cookie pudding is going to be made again here soon too. I’ll be taking it to a family reunion in a few days.

  4. I’ve used several of your recipes before! Thanks so much for this site; I check it every week!

  5. I look at your recipes at least a couple of times a week–I’ve got the cheddar muffins in the oven right now and made the nutella and strawberry crepes yesterday.

  6. This week’s menu plan looks good! Thanks for you time and effort for the menu!

Thanks for another great menu. Yes, I’ve used many of your recipes – and print out the menus each week. I’ve found a few other weekly menu website but would usually quit them after about a week or two at the most. Yours I find consistently good – great easy recipes – with things I normally have on hand – and my family has loved the recipes!

    • I feel the same as Diana G.! You are very generous and talented, and I appreciate this consistently yummy resource! It has saved my family budget, too, because we no longer eat out every night!!

    • Diana, I’m so glad your family likes the recipes. I’ve wondered how many people use the menus on a regular basis. It’s good to read your comment.

  8. Every time I’m frustrated over dinner I check your site for ideas. Thank you so much for your time and imagination. In your honor, today I purchased 3 whole chickens (at .79/lb you’re worth it). I also appreciate your sharing homeschool tidbits. When my 6 and 7 year olds overpower my devotion, I remember that you have experienced graduation and admission to college. I can and will do this…every day. God bless!

    • Ha ha! Anne, I don’t think anyone has ever bought chickens in my honor before 🙂 Happy cooking and hang in there with homeschooling. The days are sometimes long, but the years fly by!

  9. Michelle says:

Have I ever downloaded a menu??? The better question would be–Have I ever planned a menu on my own since I found your website? I am happy to say I have NOT. A day or two before I need to grocery shop, I download one of your menus and know my family will enjoy the meals. I do add in some family favorites from time to time, but to have the lion’s share of the planning done leaves me with enough energy to shop and prepare the meals. Thank you so much!!!

    • Michelle, I’m so happy to hear the menus work for you! I really do like hearing that they are helpful to people. Thanks for your comment!

  10. Thanks for your hardwork…it makes my life a little easier during the week.

  11. My husband, 14 year old daughter, and I are so grateful for your site. We all love the simple favors of your recipes. Dinners at our house are now so easy to shop for, easy and quick to make, and absolutely yummy to the tummy! Your website is a blessing!

  12. Thanks for the menu planning! I am trying the sweet and sour meatballs tonight, although I a manipulated the recipe a little bit and am doing it in the crockpot. Hopefully the kids will like it!

  13. I love the style of your writing, and the easy no fuss recipes that I know my family will like. The beautiful photos encourage me to say “hey, I can do that!”

It would be interesting to see a cost calculation of the recipes and weekly budget for the menu plan.

  14. Tiffany,
It turned out great in the crockpot! I just threw everything in and let it cook on low all day while I was at work. My husband and I really liked it, the kids on the other hand did not. Oh well, at least it was easy!

    • Kristy, it’s good to know that you can fix it in the crockpot. Too bad your kids didn’t like it. It’s hard to please everybody, isn’t it?

  15. Tiffany, my kids are young so hopefully their tastebuds will change! At least that’s what I’m hoping! LOL!

  16. I download at least 1 of your menus ever month. I love it because it’s no fuss easy food that isn’t expensive. With 4 kids and working full time I don’t have alot of time to menu plan, with yours I can just print the 1st page and put the rest in my iBook on my iPod. Then I save ink and have all your recipes at hand. Thank you so much for what you do!

  17. I, too, have not planned a menu since finding your website. You have lowered the stress level for me. The meals are delicious. My whole family (of 10) likes them. I also like the sizes of the recipes and your comments on how much you had left over. It really helps me judge whether to double the recipe or not. Thank you for blessing us.

  18. I just wanted to let you know. I have just gone back to work Full-time with twin boys at home the first week my kids ate with my husband every meal out of a can. So I researched…this site was an answer to my prayers. I can’t tell you enough how helpful this has been for my family. thanks a million

    • Jamie, thanks so much for your nice note. I love knowing that the menus and grocery lists are helping families. Best of luck in your new job!

  19. do you have any meal plans for cooking for one?! it’s hard to come up with new things for myself bc a lot of recipes have TONS of leftovers.

    • Kristi, I don’t have plans for one. Sorry! Many of the meals could be cut in half and then frozen in individual portions though.
