Capturing the Thoughts That Have Been Dripping Through My Mind

water-drop

1.  School starts this week.  I’ve got books, paper and a long to-do list cluttering my kitchen counter.  I’m looking forward to this year, but I don’t feel organized for it yet.

2.  Unfrozen, red popsicle spilled in a deep freeze will soak into the frost gathered on the side of the freezer.  The only way to clean this is to defrost the freezer.  Lesson learned, courtesy of my youngest daughter.

3.  For a review of my original Menu/Grocery List/Recipes, including a cost break down please visit Amanda at Moving Forward.  She shopped with the grocery list and did the math on how much it costs.  The cost includes a bottle of wine, but remember that if you don’t drink wine, you can freeze it in small quantities for use in future recipes.

4.  I’m working on another Menu with Grocery List for this week.  This time I’m focusing on meals from the Low Cost recipe list.

5.  Eat at Home is going to be getting a new look in the coming weeks.  I’m working with a designer now and starting to pull ideas together.

6.  Went on a date with hubby last night and saw Julie and Julia.  It was fantastic!  I now have a desire to bake a chicken with fresh herbs and good wine and whip the daylights out of something creamy with a giant whisk in a copper bowl.  I also feel better that I’m not the only person who reads cookbooks in bed.  Jim used to tease me about this when we were first married.

7.  A person named Anonymous left a comment on my post introducing the Menu/Grocery List/Recipes.  The comment says, “this stinks”.  I haven’t approved it yet, not because it is negative, but it offers no explanation as to what Anonymous is upset about.

That covers a small fraction of the thoughts twirling through my mind, but I’ll stop there.  What’s on your mind this weekend?  Are you ready for school to start?  Are your kids ready?

I’ve got a busy weekend! It’s the sales tax holiday – no sales tax on back to school type purchases (clothes, supplies, computer equip, etc.) – so we’ve got shopping to do. Of course, I’m going to have to offset the hustle & bustle with a trip to the pool.

Happy SITS Saturday Sharefest!

What would possess someone to leave “this stinks” on a comment? About meal planning? I wouldn’t publish it either. Waste of time is what it is!

Someone who leaves a comment like that anonymously is clearly jealous of what you have going here. I don’t know what my family would eat most days if not for your site, so just forget the nay-sayers! ;)

Nothing about your blog is stinky at all!

I am new to your blog and plan to spend some coffee break time and read more soon. I just had to comment because from what I have seen your blog smells great! No stink at all! LOL So I am in the same boat as you. School started today. For the first time I was not ready for summer break to end. I dragged my feet as much as my fourth grader and did everything last minute. This summer just seemed to be over in a blink of an eye.

Tiffany,
You just ignore that negative comment! The only thing that stinks is that person’s attitude. You are awesome and your food is so good! By the way, can I share the sweet & sour crock pot chicken recipe on my blog? My kids thought they had died and gone to Heaven with that meal AND I took pictures of it! LOL

Hey, I wanted to mention that the cost of my shopping list was probably higher than it had to be. I used NO coupons and didn’t shop around. I bought everything from WallyWorld (Walmart). And, I have been able to use many of the condiments over and over.

I love your blog and will give it more shameless plugs in weeks to come. You do an awesome job with it and I know it is going to continue to grow and thrive. Next year I’ll be telling people, “hey, you know Eat At Home? I knew her before she became famous.” LOL – but serious!
