Have you noticed the cost of your groceries increasing rapidly? You are not alone. The cost of food all over the world has risen dramatically, an average of 80% increase since 2005. Many of us feel this in our family budgets, but for people who are trying to live on just $1 a day the high cost of food is devastating.
A small partnership of people have pledged to give $1 for each comment left here on Eat at Home today, up to $100. The money will be sent to Compassion Global Food Crisis Fund. Your comment will feed a child for 2 days! Help us get to 100 comments.
I encourage you to check out the Compassion website to learn more about the Global Food Crisis or to donate. If you do that, let me know in your comments. Or tell me about your local food mission, or another organization working to end hunger. Or just say “hi”. Any comment counts, but please don’t leave without commenting today. It’s such a simple thing to do and will have a big impact.
I’ll be back tomorrow with another recipe, but today let’s band together to fight hunger around the world.

Thanks for stopping by! I’m happy to leave a comment to help contribute to this great cause!

Great blog. Thanks! I use the Chloe’s soup post a lot, to easily link to other people who want to know about it. I like your pictorial recipe.
Congrats for finding a sponsor to commit to such a great project – hopefully whether you reach 100 or not they will still contribute the full amount! God bless.
Wow, what a great idea, Tiffany. Here’s mine!
I wish I’d seen your giveaway yesterday. It’s so cute

AWESOME! Good luck!
Hey Tiffany this is a great idea. I recently bought a family food for a week through the Angel Food Ministries. One box is suppose to feed a family of 4 for a week. The basic box is $30.00 but I also bought them a special box (meat, sides, etc.)($18-$22). You have to have your order in by the 15th of the month. Also anyone can buy a box. If someone is facing hard times this would help their budget. They can purchase a box just for themselves and their family. This is a great way to give also if you can. I hope you reach your goal!!
A $1 a day is not a lot to eat on. You can’t even buy a decent can of soup for $1.00 anymore.
What a great way to raise awareness!
Hi Tiffany!
I’m here to do my part and help out!
Just wanted to say hello and good luck in meeting your goal!
Thank you for your generosity.

Wow – a dollar per comment? Not too shabby! What a fantastic way to raise both money and awareness for a great cause! Thank you for making this effort!
